About Us

Hi, I’m Vresh!

I’ve been a foodie for as long as I can remember. Whether it was experimenting with béchamel at age 13, watching Hell’s Kitchen reruns in the middle of the night, or cooking side by side with my mum - I love to cook. It’s one of the few parts of my personality that hasn’t changed in decades. 
I was born in Chennai, India (Southeastern tip), and was only a few weeks old when my parents relocated to Dubai, the burgeoning capital of the Arabian Gulf. Away from home, my parents raised meto respect and cherish the rich and ancient culture from which I hail. Food was of course an integral part of this cultural enrichment.

Our Mission

At vreshFOODS, we are on a mission to educate the world on the hidden side of Indian food culture. 4,000 years of culinary excellence, nuance and tradition, passed down through generations has been reduced to a single word — Curry. We're here to change that. Indian cuisine isn’t just ‘naan bread, butter chicken and samosas’. It is an enigmatic fusion of flavours, colours, spices, tradition and culture. 

Our key goals are: 
  • Make ghee ubiquitous in Canadian kitchens, one jar at a time.
  • Showcase the ‘cool’ factor of South Indian culture and its cuisine
  • Simplify Indian cuisine and adapt local favourites with Indian twists

Our Vision

Sustainably crafting a true ‘Product of Canada’ that celebrates the multicultural culinary landscape of Canada. 

The prevelance of local, farm-to-table programs in the Indian restaurant scene in Canada, and eventually, North America. 

We envision a Canada where Indian-inspired pantry staples are sold side by side with traditional ones, without being relegated to the "international aisle". True cultural, and culinary integration is the world we want to live in.
